- Water for Life. Water for Livelihoods. Water for Dignity.
Access to reliable water is essential for healthy families, productive livelihoods and resilient rural communities. In many remote and economically disadvantaged villages, people continue to face difficulties in accessing dependable sources of drinking water and irrigation.
Bapuji Youth Association (BYA) works with rural and tribal communities to improve access to water through community-focused drinking-water and irrigation borewell initiatives. These interventions are designed to respond to local needs and create practical, long-term benefits for communities.
- DRINKING WATER BOREWELLS
Bringing Safe and Reliable Water Closer to Rural Communities
BYA supports the development of drinking-water borewell facilities to help communities access a more reliable source of water closer to their homes.
The initiative aims to reduce the time and effort families spend collecting water, particularly benefiting women and children who often carry a major responsibility for household water collection.
Reliable access to drinking water can contribute to better hygiene, health and household well-being.
It also helps communities become less dependent on distant or seasonal water sources.
The initiative has helped reduce the transportation burden on economically disadvantaged families while giving students greater independence in travelling to and from school.
BYA works with communities to identify local water needs and support appropriate water infrastructure according to the conditions of the area.

The organization has experience implementing drinking-water borewell projects in rural communities, including through its collaboration with CAPART, under which five drinking-water borewells were implemented.
The objective is to create water facilities that provide communities with a more dependable source for their daily needs.

Our Goal
To help rural and tribal families access reliable drinking water closer to where they live, reducing hardship and supporting healthier and more dignified living conditions.
- IRRIGATION BOREWELLS
Water for Agriculture. Opportunity for Rural Families.
For small and marginal farmers, the availability of water can directly influence agricultural productivity and household income. Dependence on rainfall or inadequate irrigation can make farming uncertain and leave rural families vulnerable to crop losses and unstable livelihoods.
BYA supports irrigation borewell initiatives to improve access to water for agricultural purposes in rural communities.
The availability of irrigation water can help farmers make better use of their land and reduce their dependence on uncertain rainfall.
It can support more consistent agricultural activity and strengthen the productive capacity of small and marginal farmers.
Reliable irrigation can also create opportunities for farmers to diversify crops and make better use of available agricultural resources, where local conditions permit.
The intervention is particularly relevant to rural families whose livelihoods depend significantly on agriculture and related activities.
BYA’s earlier work includes the implementation of irrigation borewells in rural communities, including five irrigation borewells supported through its collaboration with CAPART.
The organization approaches water infrastructure as more than a physical asset—it is an important foundation for livelihood development and rural economic resilience.
By improving access to irrigation, such interventions can help farming families strengthen their productive capacity and work towards more sustainable livelihoods.
Our Goal
To help rural farming communities access dependable irrigation resources that can strengthen agriculture, improve livelihood opportunities and contribute to greater economic resilience.
OUR APPROACH TO WATER
SAFE WATER → HEALTHIER FAMILIES → PRODUCTIVE COMMUNITIES → STRONGER LIVELIHOODS
BYA believes that water security has a direct connection with the well-being and development of rural communities.
Our water initiatives therefore focus on addressing practical community needs and creating infrastructure that can provide lasting value to the people who depend on it.
Our Commitment
Every community deserves access to water that supports life, health and livelihoods.
Through drinking-water and irrigation initiatives, Bapuji Youth Association seeks to help rural and tribal communities overcome water-related challenges and build healthier, more secure and economically resilient futures.
